Focus on implementing secure algorithmic intelligence to create value

I worked for many years as an ISP and full-spectrum application design consultant. During that time I also became involved with several non-profit organizations and went on to hold leadership positions in them. From 2015 I wound down the non-profit work, divested the ISP services, and turned my attention to machine learning, computer vision, and mechatronic control.

That turn went further than I expected. I came to believe that AI outcomes would need to be provable and tied to a physical reality rather than merely demonstrated, and that verifying and validating them was a mathematical problem before it was an engineering one. I followed that into graduate work in discrete mathematics and network theory. It was a very engaging time, brought to a premature end by Covid and its effects on graduate education.

I am largely retired now. I still take the occasional client, and I still write — mostly on complex adaptive systems, swarms, criticality, and modeling the behavior of real systems across time, scale, and domain. Those pieces are collected in The Confluence.
